Services are literally everywhere.
We use them all the time. To pay our bills, to access medical support, to receive education.
How these services are created, are often created with the best intentions, but quite often miss the mark.
In this course you won't learn about creating delightful experiences. Obviously those experiences are amazing things to aim for, but in reality, so many services are created with systemic flaws around equity that perpetuate inequality in this world.
You will learn about the process used to create functional experiences first and foremost using one of my favourite tools, Journey Mapping.
Too often I hear "I can create a Journey Map". Sure, most people can create a journey map. But can they create a journey map that aligns perspectives and is inclusive? Much like having access to Microsoft Word does not make you a New York Times Best Selling author, the same can be said about creating Journey Maps.
Journey Mapping is one of the most powerful tools in any innovators toolkit.
When correctly presented and created, it provides a visual representation of the experiences faced by people navigating an organisational ecosystem.
In this course, we will cover all aspects of how you can use the method of 'mapping' to cover areas such as customer journey mapping, user journey mapping, employee journey mapping.

A fantastic workshop today. It was super valuable, inspiring, fun and I learnt a lot!"
Pamela, Senior Product Designer (March 2023)
An eye-opening and insightful experience into not just Service Design and Journey Mapping, but also to facilitation from The Human Centered Design Network. Gerry Scullion is a wonderful teacher. I had a vague idea of what Journey Mapping involved previously, but this course gave me the hands on experience to gain a much deeper understanding. I enjoyed building out a journey map with a team. I now feel better equipped to research service design and to take a deep dive into a customer's journey. I couldn't recommend this course enough if you are interested in the topic!
Lynda, UX/UI Designer (March 2023)
I’ve been wanting to learn more about journey mapping for a while now, so this was perfect. It gave me the chance to really get under the skin of what a journey map looks like, and the steps in creating it.It was a really fun, practical course, with a great mix of live teaching and collaboration with the other folks who joined the workshop. (Once you sign up, you also get access to some super useful bonus content, including a ‘Creating a journey map’ video, so you can go back to it after the course.)Another key takeaway was how to peel a Post-it so it doesn’t curl and fall off the wall – game changer!Plus I got a fancy certificate at the end, too – bonus 🙌 Thanks again for a great course, Gerry. You’re a star.
